One part business-speak, one part put-down, one part “I know more than you,” the statement “You can’t boil the ocean” is one of my least favorite things to hear.
OR… I love hearing it because it’s when I know I am probably on the right track and dealing with someone with a very small perspective who doesn’t want to explain why things are not possible. Because the truth is you absolutely can boil the ocean. Ask Mars. Or ask that ocean that that lava is boiling in the photo above this article.
